Ms. Ellington studied clarinet and music education at Ball State University and completed the Master of Music in Education program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Ms. Ellington received Orff-Schulwerk certification from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana. Most recently, she completed World Music Drumming Level I in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin where she learned how to play instruments, dance, and sing music from all over the world! Something students may find interesting is that Ms. Ellington takes mandolin lessons over the summer.
Ms. Ellington has taught elementary music in Raleigh, North Carolina and is excited to continue the music program Newberry! Ms. Ellington works to bring scholars a comprehensive, enjoyable music experience that includes singing, playing instruments, movement, composition, and improvisation.
